'Erin’s Prize'

Some specimens arrive with such singular character that the question of what to name them answers itself. This celosia — a Phoenix by its very nature, form-divergent and entirely its own thing — came out of the ground with a presence that demanded a proper noun. It was named for Erin. The naming is the recognition: this one earned it.

The Garden Phoenix collection is the study of celosia as it actually grows when given the freedom to diverge — when form is not corrected but followed wherever it leads. Each piece in this collection is a portrait of a specimen, not a type. This pendant holds the particular expression of this particular plant, set into a vintage brass cameo frame that has held portraits before and knows how to honor the character of its subject.
