'The Green Swirl'

The ground beneath these flowers moves. The swirled green resin that forms the base of this bezel was set in motion during the pour and caught mid-turn — not a flat surface, but a current, a slow green vortex that continues to move even under the seal of the resin. Lantana and hydrangea rest on that surface as if they had landed there by wind, which in another version of the story they did.

Lantana comes in more colors than most people know. Hydrangea is the flower that changes color based on soil pH — the same plant, different chemistry, different blue. Here they meet on a green ground that was never meant to be still, and the result is something that looks alive in a way that pressed botanicals usually do not. The motion was caught before it could finish. It continues.
