'Three Arrivals'

The three blooms arrive in procession — not simultaneously, not scattered. There is an order here that wasn’t planned but became unmistakable in the making. The verbena blooms come in sequence: first, then second, then third. The gold bead pollen clusters between them like punctuation. The grapevine traces the edge, giving the whole piece its architecture.

Pale gold glitter settles through the piece the way afternoon light settles through a south-facing window — everywhere, unhurried, making everything it touches slightly more itself. The brass bezel and dark chain hold all of it without drama.

Three arrivals. Three moments of red against gold. The verbena knows something about ceremony that it doesn’t explain.
