'Butterflies in Florence'

Late summer, when the hydrangea florets blow in the breeze, due to the four-cornered petals, when the wind takes then and they whirl upwards, they look like a cloud of small white butterflies. Dancing and soaring with the wind. Butterflies dream and so do the florets. While they dance on the wind, they dream of attending a bright Florentine ball, lit only with the ambiance of candlelight. To borrow the form of the butterflies they mimic, they don a sheath of gold with dollops of shattered rose petals on their arms to be mistaken as wings. Off to the ball they went. It was a marvelous time. The walls of the party were all wrapped in Florentine marble paper, a party gift to the hosted, from the Universe herself. How very generous. The party to remind each and every one of us who we are to ourselves and each other.
