'Spring Fling'

Coral verbena is so delicate and frilly in her petite blooms and she changes color so quickly that if a day goes by and you haven't looked, you can miss the bright coral as it quickly fades to a apricot, then peach, then a washed out color that looks like it has once been sherbet. It was on a bright coral day that the opened robin's egg finally hit the right gust of wind to come toppling down from the nest just above the verbena. When I looked again, the successfully opened from the inside remains of the shell were nestled amongst the delicate new vibrant coral blooms of the neighbor in whose yard the no-longer-needed shell found itself relocated. Seeing them together, Flora and I decided that this is as good a sign as any from The Universe to wed them together for eternity. This piece memorializes that serendipitous happenstance, or what we call it here - farm magic.
