With the bees tucked in for the nigh in their hives, birdsong has quieted, the chimney swifts are making their dusk hour mad dash for their chimney perch, and the last fingers of light release their grip at the end of the blue hour.. THIS is the magic of the garden when they can be themselves and not bob their heads to follow the sun or cringe from the excessive heat. The sun setting is being off duty. By the light of the moon, the colors deepen. The ordinary world loosens its grip.
