'Wild Violet'

Long before the gardens awaken and before the trees unfurl their leaves, the wild violet arrives.

Small.

Unassuming.

Impossible to ignore.

Among the first flowers of spring, wild violets provide an essential source of nectar for early pollinators emerging from winter. While many plants wait for warmer days, the violet begins the work of renewal.

It thrives where others hesitate.

At woodland edges.

Along forgotten paths.

In patches of ground overlooked by nearly everyone.

And yet it returns year after year.

What most people never realize is that the violet carries a secret. Beyond its familiar blossoms, it later produces hidden flowers that never open at all. These concealed blooms quietly create the next generation, ensuring the plant's future whether anyone notices it or not.

The wild violet does not depend on being seen to become what it was meant to be.

It simply continues.

Blooming.

Growing.

Returning.

A small but persistent reminder that some of the most enduring forms of beauty arrive without fanfare and leave roots that last far longer than their flowers.
